Each step counts, for the sequences are not in the order through the journey of my version of the life story and experience I thought they should be, but in the perfect timing; I gradually understand that each step aligns with the higher power's will and plan for me as He weaves everything into perfect harmony.
My artwork responds to my inner callings and voice, blending my past, present, and future and integrating my emotions, experiences, and reflections. I live fully in the moment and can now freely draw and paint the journeys of my life, embracing the unspoken words within me. This brings me great comfort, and I am deeply grateful for that.
I am gladly walking in the light! I created mixed-media collage art of myself based on my walking in Paris. Sometimes, you are chasing the light to go out of the darkness. Sometimes, you realize you are the light in the darkness to illuminate the path ahead! How I write is how I talk to myself.
Sketching and painting my travels in Portland brings me immense joy, especially during my solo visit to the Lan Su Chinese Garden with my baby son. I was born and raised in Shanghai, near Suzhou; I’ve always felt strongly connected to that region. Inspired by the renowned artist and educator Wu Guanzhong, who beautifully depicted Jiangnan landscapes, visiting the Lan Su Chinese Garden is a comforting reminder of home. It was such a great comfort, filling me with gratitude for this experience!
