When I was painting in the Neptune Picnic Area at Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach in Alameda, the motif of trees has always spoken to me; I love their silence and stillness, and they hold so much wisdom. I was in a good mood while painting this on-location piece in Alameda, creating a positive vibe and energy. At the same time, my husband was playing guitar and singing beside me, and my son was exploring nature. It was a lovely family time.
Birds are fascinating; I am painting the songbirds of the Red-winged blackbird and Yellow-throated Warbler. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? - Matthew 6:26
In this video, I am happy to show you my small art bag for daily and traveling sketching on the go. I also share with you by flipping through my two pocket sketchbooks, which I created on-location, capturing life's precious moments while my baby son is always with me. After having a baby, I travel with my baby son. As a mom, I always carry a big mommy bag, so I minimized the art material bag on the go. Having minimal art supplies while I travel with my young baby works well, so I can still work on art whenever possible. I feel grateful for the journey.
In this video, I will demonstrate how to create a travel art journal based on my experience of spending two months in Italy during the summer of 2016. The video is in Mandarin Chinese, but English and other language subtitles are available. I will also share six tips for creating a travel art journal. I hope this video will be inspiring and helpful to art and travel enthusiasts. Blessings to all!
In the video, I share two prayer sketchbook journals with you. The first is a colorful mixed-media journal that includes Bible study and inspiration from nature. In the second journal, I sketch my baby son daily and offer prayers for him as a mom. I am thankful to God and praise the Lord for the amazing grace and mercy shown during this parenthood journey.
Singing has always been one of my favorite things. I turn to music and start singing whenever I'm happy or sad. I want to share a worship song called "A Gift to You," originally by Frank Hernandez. My husband, Dr. Samuel Bai, and I created a new song version. He plays the flute and guitar and handles the post-production while I paint our family's artwork. We joyfully sing together.
But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.-Joshua 24:15
