It's a long story that began eight years ago when my husband and I got married at the Los Altos United Methodist Church. Later, we moved to Alameda Island. Six years ago, I was provided with my first temporary church studio at Twin Towers United Methodist Church while working on the thesis project for my second master's degree. Then, I was offered the teaching opportunity to the first church group, the women's group from the Embrace Church.
Responding to God for the gifts He has equipped me with throughout my journey, through both the ups and downs. Witness this special season of merger between Embrace Church and Twin Towers United Methodist Church, these two churches share the same address and architecture.
The Goodness of God is pouring down.
Six years ago, I started an online group called "Art and Faith." Having been informed in September 2024 about the church space again, I took a brave step in my response to God in May 2025. I wrote down the Art Project Proposal in the Church during the first week of June, and I still kept the same name from six years ago. Now, in early July, a new journey begins!
This workshop series is specially designed for the church fellowship group, "Art and Faith." My role as a teaching artist here is to provide art support and walk alongside; we all personally seek the Presence of God in the same sacred space, but with our unique approach to expressing or communicating in art, using a personal preferred media on art-making, go through a deeper personal connection in Faith and Spiritual Reflection. The purpose of this art project is to serve the Christian community, as Art and Faith converge to promote individual well-being, spiritual growth, healing, and outreach through Art as Worship.

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens. … He has made everything beautiful in its time. - Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11
The upcoming community-centered teaching event will be a two-day workshop titled "Sketching Summertime," taking place in August 2025 at Julie's Coffee and Tea Garden, located at 1223 Park St, Alameda, CA. This follows the previous teaching event, "Sketching Springtime," held in April 2025.
As I mentioned earlier, it was a "Start Small. Begin!" moment; now it's another wonderful time to "Keep Exploring!"
You are the light that gives light to the world.

Amidst my regular schedule of caring for my baby, creating daily artwork, teaching, conducting research, homeschooling, and managing household chores, I also organized and hosted a diverse range of forty-five online Zoom events, most of which were live and not recorded. These events included regular free bilingual storytime music and art sessions, family music ministry, reading clubs, and art events, ensuring there was something for everyone.
I've shared the recordings of another successful series of events I hosted. This event included nine insightful lectures and sharing sessions on various themes during the pandemic. I was in charge of hosting and planning the art-sharing sessions and online event themes, inviting guest speakers, designing all event posters for advertisement, writing all the articles, and editing videos. I also delivered speeches on specific art-themed topics as the lecturer.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the guests who graciously accepted my invitation and contributed to the success of the sharing sessions. Your contributions and blessings were a true inspiration. I also want to thank my husband, Dr. Samuel Bai, sincerely. His unwavering support was invaluable and greatly appreciated, from caring for our baby to providing on-site translation. I am grateful that I followed my heart's instincts, for God put His will into it and dedicated my time to organizing and hosting this continuous series of meaningful events that benefit numerous families and educators."
